Dr. Granter received his B.A. and M.D. degrees from the University of Vermont. He took his postgraduate residency training in Pathology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. He received his fellowship training in dermatopathology at Harvard Medical School program and in cytopathology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Granter is an Associate Professor of Pathology at the Harvard Medical School. He also lectures in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology-Harvard Health Sciences and Technology Program. He is the author of over 100 publications and book chapters, and is the co-author/associate editor of several textbooks, including the 3rd edition of Pathology of the Skin, and Diagnostic Gynecologic and Obstetric Pathology. Dr. Granter's interests span the spectrum from clinical to translational science, infectious disease to pathogenesis of cutaneous neoplasms, and the history of science and medicine. He has co-authored articles in the journals, Cell, Science, Nature, and Current Biology.
