Dr. Mukhopadhyay is Director of Pulmonary Pathology at Cleveland Clinic, a fellowship-trained pulmonary pathologist, and author of a textbook on non-neoplastic lung pathology. Prior to joining the Cleveland Clinic, he was a general surgical pathologist and part of the pathology faculty at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY for 6 years. His interests include interstitial lung disease, granulomatous lung disease, infections of the lung, lung cancer, mesothelioma and thymic tumors. His work has been published in several peer-reviewed clinical and pathology journals including American Journal of Surgical Pathology, Thorax, Chest, Journal of Thoracic Oncology, Human Pathology, American Journal of Clinical Pathology, Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and Modern Pathology. He is a leader in global pathology education on social media. More recently, Dr. Mukhopadhyay first-authored a landmark publication that is the largest study in the United States comparing whole slide imaging to conventional microscopy.
