Dr. Kovarik received her B.S. degree from Texas A&M University (Electrical Engineering), and her M.D. degree from the Baylor College of Medicine. She took her residency training in Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern, Dallas, TX, and a fellowship in Dermatopathology, at Stanford University Medical Center, Stanford, CA. She holds specialty certification by the American Board of Dermatology, American Board of Pathology and Dermatology – Dermatopathology, and has received a Diploma & Certificate of Knowledge in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene. Dr. Kovarik has served on the eMedicine Editorial Board and as a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology, Journal of Investigational Dermatology, Transplant Infectious Disease and the International Journal of Microbiology. She is a member of the International Society of Dermatology, the International Society of Dermatopathology, and the American Academy of Dermatology.
