Dr. Smoller received his A.B. degree, cum laude, from Dartmouth College and his M.D. from the University of Cincinnati. He took his specialty training in pathology at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, and his fellowship training in dermatopathology at New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center. Dr. Smoller is Secretary-Treasurer and Executive Vice President of the United States & Canadian Academy of Pathology, headquartered in Augusta, GA. Dr. Smoller was professor of Pathology and Dermatology, and is the Chairman of the Department of Pathology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He has served as Editor in Chief of the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology and the President of the American Society of Dermatopathology. He has written extensively in the fields of cutaneous lymphomas and in the use of immunopathology in diagnostic dermatopathology. His recent research efforts have centered around cytokine expression in cutaneous neoplasias. Dr. Smoller has recently accepted the position as the Executive Vice President of the United States Canadian Academy of Pathology and will be relocating from his position at University of Arkansas to Augusta, GA.
